Newer Dell laptops like the Dell Inspiron need to change the bootloader order directly to the UEFI settings.

If you only have a single-boot system with Ubuntu installed, you can install Windows directly and completely override Ubuntu. To remove Ubuntu from the Ubuntu / window / Dual boot system, you must first replace the GRUB bootloader with the Windows bootloader. Then you will need to remove the Ubuntu partitions.

The first step can be done with Windows Recovery DVD / Installation DVD or Ubuntu Live DVD. If you have a new Dell laptop (such as a Dell Inspiron), you will need to do this by changing the boot order in the UEFI settings, which will be discussed later.
